How did I meet David and Emily Conklin?
Emily Conklin is one of the awesome staff at Ken and Kerri Courtright event called Digital Footprint. It was held in October, 2015 at Santa Ana, CA. I was in awe by amount of her marketing knowledge she shared speaking on stage for the first time. She really did well.
On a side note, if you ever have an opportunity to attend the Digital Footprint event, to meet with father and daughter Dave and Emily Conklin and the rest of their awesome staff, you should go. You’ll learn more in those three days than you could ever imagine. Don’t forget to let them know you hear from Neary Heng.
Final thoughts:
Emily Conklin is a young lady full of life ahead of her. She has the best mentors and role models who love, care and let her have “the right freedom” to explore the best possibilities for her. Those mentors are her parents, Dave and Jodi Conklin.
I learned a few new things in marketing which I’ve shared them with you in these five videos series. The conversation with Emily has confirmed and her beliefs are aligned with my practices in living a purposeful and fulfilling life.
If you want to get out of whatever rut you are in, so you can be the achiever and to get ahead in life, you need to:
- Have open minded
- Don’t prejudge an individual
- Be willing to be counseled by whomever, regardless of age, class, gender, possesses the proper skills and knowledge you need to acquire.
- Have compassion
- and more…
There is a term in marketing calls a Funnel. A funnel defines as the following per Google search:
“A consumer focused marketing model which illustrates the theoretical customer journey towards the purchase of a product or service.”
The way I see it, we go through our very own funnels each moment we live. It is the funnel of life. Except each individual life’s funnel are far more complex to understand and can be challenging to create the right funnel. Unfortunately, some people are living every day through the funnels that are not meant for them.
Whether it’s in marketing or personal practices, we have to create our very own life’s funnels. Make sure to build the funnel that is best fit, enjoyable for your business and personal life. One that will take to your fulfillment without harming or trick yourself and other people along the way, so that you can fall asleep peacefully at night.

Neary: So you are a digital marketing. Could you give us top 3 tips on marketing. Can you give a top three things on digital marketing.
Emily: Top 3 tips.
Neary: Yes.
Emily: Content is key. I’m sure a lot of people have heard that before. But if you don’t have great content that go in depth about the topic that you talking about, people aren’t going to want to share with their friends and user engagement.
If you don’t have awesome content, people are going to leave your site right away. So you are really want to pure your time and efforts into creating that awesome content first. And then market the crap out of it.
You can use social media to reach these people and create awesome relationship with them. So that they have that personal relations establish. And they feel more comfortable with your website, your service, your brand your product.
Those things are absolutely crucial. Any digital marketing campaign, you want to make sure you have good quality stuff that people really want.
Neary: So one is content. #2?
Emily: Using social media as a gateway to get your content and have people be aware of your website. You really want the word of mouth takes loads and have people talking about it.
#3: Also monetization a lot of people don’t understand how severely it is ways to monetize your site. They are many ways to monetize. Its depends on your industry and your specific website. But the opportunities are endless.
You can use affiliate links and ads. You can sell a product. There are so many things that you can do.
And it’s all go back to your content. If you don’t have content that awesome, then you don’t have eyeballs. And and if you don’t have eye balls, then the money won’t follow.
Neary: There you go guys, three things. Now, do you have a favorite social media that you like the most?
Emily: Hmmm, I don’t.
Neary: That actually make money?
Emily: You can make money using any social media platform as long as you have the machine.
So if you create a page that has a bunch of affiliate links or ads and the contents are really great, people are going to view your content. And as long as you have relevant ads ways to monetize. People will be interested.
And as far as a favorite.
Neary: Yes, if you have to pick one.
Emily: hmm, I think that Pinterest is very intriguing. It’s a new and upcoming social media platform on the marketing side. A lot of the companies aren’t really expending the horizon. Excuse me, to Marketing on Pinterest.
I think it’s really neat dynamics there. They just incorporated a Buy button on the pins. I think that’s really cool in the past couple of months.
So, I like how it’s constantly changing and opportunity there are really endless. It’s really neat.
Neary: What do you think of that periscope? What’s that? Have you heard of it? Where they take video and post the video live online. You can see it. Is it periscope?
Emily: There are a lot of services like that. And I can think that you can use them for a specific target audience. So it’s not necessarily for every industry. But there are some industries that I think could do really well with Video Marketing.
Especially if you creating self creating videos and getting people to talk about them and watched your videos. I think that’s really neat.
Neary: Wow. Already. So any suggestions before you leave?
Emily: Hmm, the thing that I want people to know the most that it’s okay to take risks. I think that there’s a lot of people are afraid to invest their time, and money and effort because they are not confident in themselves and their ideas.
So and they’re afraid to fail. I think that that limits a lot of people to opportunities. You don’t want to shut yourself away from all of these things that you can use to create success for yourself and other people.
The most important thing is to open yourself up to opportunities and just take your ideas and run.
It’s Ok to take risks because if you fail it’s a lesson learned. And you can use that to create something better. And you can use your failures for your success.
Neary: Awesome point! What, what is Emily long term goal?
Emily: Hmmm, my long-term goals is to impact as many people as I can and provide them with very influential knowledge that they can use in their everyday life, their business life, their spiritual life. I think that’s very important.
And just to chase your dreams. I think that’s really important in every individual. Just the way you think, everyone thinks in different ways and you can use that to your advantage.
Neary: Well, and thank you so much for sharing your passion!
Thank you very much! It’s great to talk with you.
Neary: Well, thank you! There you have it everybody. Eighteen years old!, she knows exactly what she wants. It seems it seems like you have very, very good self confidence.
Emily: Right. Another way I like to think of whether you are young or your middle age, or you are old. That doesn’t matter. Age is just a number. So if you have an idea or a passion, just pour your time in to it. And really use that to impact of people lives and create success for yourself.
Neary: Watch out for Emily seriously. We both laughing…
She is great. I saw her talking yesterday on stage. Incredible incredible message.
Emily: Thank you very much.
Neary: Thank you for watching. And whatever your passion, whatever that hunger that you have inside of yourself, go out, reach out to those who are know-how and to your fulfilling life.
This is Neary Heng and thank you for watching. Thank you Emily.
