The FISH! Philosophy

I had this book for a while, but I didn’t read it. Partly, it looks boring and looks like a kid book. Now, I should know better not to judge a book by its cover. Plus, I have a lot more books I wanted to read that haven’t found time instead of this one.

My original plan on New Year’s Day was I just wanted to take it easy.

Well, I picked up the book “Fish! A Remarkable Way to Boost Morale and Improve Results” and started to read it. I didn’t put it down until I finished it in one sitting on New Year day! It’s the first book I read and write a review on the first day of the 2016.

I must admit that I was skeptical of its simplicity and applicability in personal and business. I’m sure other people have had the same skepticism regarding my book From Internment To Fulfillment.

It is an amazingly well written, great storytelling, plenty of lessons and examples to demonstrate each theory they’re trying to teach.

Each theory is very simple, but yet it’s really practical. Now, I can see why this book is so popular.

I’m also convinced that the book’s theories are applicable for personal and professional growth. Imagine if every person or employee in your organization applies by the following theories:

Fish! A Remarkable Way To Boost Morale And Improve Results

Choose Your Attitude – “The attitude you have right now is the one you are choosing. Many of us have lost sight of our ability to choose. If you don’t know you have choices when you don’t believe you have choices, you don’t.”
Be aware of your chosen attitude each day.

Play – “Play is not just an activity; it’s a state of mind that brings new energy and gives birth to creativity. Happy people treat others well. Having a good time is healthy. Have fun while you work and fun is energizing.”

Make Their Day – “Focus your attention on ways to make another person’s day provides a constant flow of positive feelings. Engage your customers in ways which create energy and goodwill.”

Be Present– “When you a present with people, you look right at them just like being your best friend everything going on around you but you still take care of just them.”

After reading the book, it makes me want to visit Pike Place Fish market in Seattle.

If you haven’t read the book, I encourage you to pick up a copy and apply theirs theories yourself, with your friends and teams.

By the way, let go of any skepticism you might have because of the books’ simplicity and put these profound theories to work.
