Can you believe that it’s already a vegetarian 100 days challenge week 8?
There is a battle in the conscious mind occasionally. How do you stop the battle if you don’t know there is one?
The power of the mind is amazing. If you don’t believe me, try to get rid of any addictions or one of the bad habits you have. You are yourself, but yet there are two sides to your emotions. Your good vs evil emotions. Each one wants to control.
You might not be able to distinguish between the two.
CHALLENGES:
A strange thing happened. When I smelled raw chicken, my stomach started to turn. The last time I experienced this was sometime last year. It didn’t bother me as much. I just let it go.
Now, it makes me wonder. Why am I experiencing this? What is it?
No, it’s not pregnancy.
If you have experienced the same symptom, please share your experience with me. How did you get rid of it?
The thought of eating something salty comes to my mind this week. I had some popcorn. Eating salty food is not one of my weaknesses. I eat just a few bites, then I’m done.
MENTAL DISCIPLINE:
How do you stop a battle between good vs evil emotions within your conscious mind if you don’t know there is a battle to begin with?
By knowing yourself and your WHY (desire outcome), you shall be able to identify clearly between the two emotions. Once you do that, you can stop the fighting.
If your WHY isn’t strong, then the struggle will continue and you may not reach your end goal.
This week has been nice and calm. For the first time, I do not have to fight for my craving and temptation to eat meat as I was at the beginning of the challenge. My mind is at peace.
Does this mean the good emotion wins over the evil emotion? Yes, it is at this moment!
I’m not doing anything different from any previous weeks. This feeling of stillness in the mind is incredible beyond words I can explain to you. Imagine you are in a perfect harmony moment. You are in an agreement with yourself. That is the best example I can give you.
PHYSICAL CHANGE:
Craving for sweets is not an issue.
Getting hungry has often been subsided. I don’t have the gnawing hungry feeling of wanting to eat every few hours. As such, I feel my body continues to adapt to the new diet routine better.
For the first time, I’m feeling a little tired. This might be contributed by the unexpected hectic schedule from the past two weeks. Plus, I’ve been going to bed later than my usual bedtime.
A good friend of mine suggested that since I’m doing vegetarian, why don’t I cleanse my systems too. I bought a natural detox formula from a local drug store. I’ve been taking it for five days now. It does not give me diarrhea, stomachache or bad reaction.
I thought I felt lighter and clean of my best self last week. This week, I could feel my systems are cleaner and emptied especially in the morning before I eat anything.
WHAT IS ON MY MIND?
During these two months that I’m eating only vegetables, I wonder how many livestock and fishery and other resources directly related to my food consumption have been saved.
I thought eating meat is essential and must have as part of living my life.
I thought vegetarian food would be very plain and boring.
When there is a talk about a vegetarian diet, it usually implies to some monks and nuns eating only vegetables for religious practice reasons.
This has been an eye-opening experience.
What is the one eating habit that you’ve been wanted to change, but you haven’t done it yet?
Do not wait until it’s too late for you to do anything.
Now is a good time to change while you can and have control over it.
Will I be able to resist my mom’s homemade food and make it to week nine by not eating meat and seafood for 100 days until May 2nd, 2016?
Stay tuned for next week’s update.
