Mother actually isn’t always right. What Dr. Gene Landrum’s mother Thought of his business concept.
Dr. Gene Landrum Chuck E. Cheese is the founder and renowned entrepreneur. He’s an amazing sharp guy. Not to mention that he has a great sense of humor. Dr. Gene Landrum is authored of 21 books and still counting.
It was such an inspiration and entertaining listening to Dr. Landrum giving his speech.
Chuck E. Cheese is a chain of American family entertainment centers and restaurants. Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza Time Theatre in San Jose, California, was the first location to open in 1977. There were 577 locations as of March 2014 per Wiki.

From listening to his speech, I learn a few things from him.
- Very few people can see or understand your vision. Majority of the times, people will tell you that your vision is a failure waiting to happen.
- Only you and a few people out there could understand your vision. They would not see 100% clearly as you are.
- Listen to your gut instinct. Very deep down, your intuition is telling you the truth.
- No body in this world is actually always right. No one knows you best like you know yourself. I hope you do.
- Don’t let the negativity be the blockage to achieving your dream.
- Nothing is done in life unless we take the right actions to get things done.

Let me tell you a little background when I started Chuck E Cheese.
It was 1977, when I open the first Chuck E Cheese.
And I took my mother who was from the old school Kentucky. She thought you go
to school. You get a desk job, and someday someone gives you a
watch. Right? That’s a given.
And I brought my mother out at the very first store that I opened, and
I went to the back room. And I said, “that’s my mom out there. She
likes jer draft beer. Now get in that costume there. That rat. You know Chuck E Cheese?
Get in the rat costume. Get out then get my mother a beer. I want to get a picture.”
So I did that. And I walked over, and I looked at my mother; I said,
“Mom! I want you to know something. I actually created this concept I
designed it. I’m the president. I’m going to build a chain.”
I said, “Mom, tell me what you really think.”
And my mother thought for a minute and
turn to me. She said, “Honey, when are you going to get a real
job?”
“What? Mom I’m changing the world!. I’m building the entertainment!”
