The Vegetarian 100 days challenge week 11: A simple way to find out someone’s personality really quickly.
Do you want to test your friends, dates, children or significant-other temper?
There is a simple way to find out if someone is compassionate, kind, thoughtful, caring, have patient, warm heart or possess all the negative trades you can think of.
Going through this vegetarian ordeal stirs up a lot of my emotions from the past and present eating habits.
CHALLENGES:
First, have you had a pastry from Porto Bakery and Café? If you haven’t, it is a must-have.
Porto is the best bakery around the Los Angeles area.
Their stuffed potato balls that have meat are my favorite of them all.
The best part is the place isn’t close to me.
The bad part was this week, potato balls were brought home and were looking at me.
My mouth was literally watering, and my eyes were eating them.
They are dangerously too delicious. I’m not a huge fan of bakery and pastry, but I admit. It’s the best.
Yes, I said no to them! Can you believe that?
The temptation was extremely strong. So strong that I had to touch the crust.
And then I stopped my hands from putting them in my mouth.
Having eaten so many cousins from various different cultures, I’ve accumulated too many favorite foods. It certainly put more pressure while I’m doing this eating challenge.
THE STATE OF MIND:
I’ve never forgotten the feeling of being starved when I was growing up. This vegetarian challenge is nothing come close to the starvation I had experienced then.
Today, I have too many choices. Back then I had no choice to pick and choose what kind of food I wanted to eat. There was only one choice. Eat what was given in front of me or be starved.
Of course, I chose to eat what little food was given to me.
Back then I didn’t have exposure to so many kinds of foods either. It was a good thing I must say. I can’t imagine my state of mind would be like if I were to know so many foods like nowadays.
Nonetheless, the temptation for food is extremely powerful and strong.
When you are hungry, and there is no food to eat, the emotion is extremely dangerous. You think a hungry lion is dangerous! You might not have experienced with hungry human beings just yet.
When someone is hungry, he can be very deadly and crueler than animals for some.
Is it stronger than love?
Yes! You can live without love, but you can’t live without food.
You don’t believe me?
Test someone who is very close to you when he is very HUNGRY, then you’ll know. How he reacts when he is hungry, you can tell a lot about his emotions and temper overall. Is he willing to share the food with you or is he behaving like a mad beast?
PHYSICAL CHANGE:
My energy level is normal. I don’t feel tired.
I feel my body is light and clean as it has been for weeks now.
WHAT IS ON MY MIND?
I thought seeing and smelling delicious food is very tough. It is a lot tougher when seeing, smelling and being at social events.
The combined situation is an alluring and enticing game to the mind!
If you have an addiction and want to stop it whether it is smoking, alcohol, drugs and so on, you have to stop being around and associate with anyone who is doing just that.
What if you don’t have any like-minded person?
Learn to be alone.
Find a group of people whom you can associate with and support you.
A person with a strong mind and ability to distinguish between the Pros and Cons of the actions being taken at the present time is a huge plus for any person to overcome the temptation.
What is the one bad habit that you’ve been wanted to change, but you haven’t done it yet?
Do not wait as you may not have the time to do anything later.
Now is a good time to change while you can and have control over it.
Will I be able to resist the food temptation and make it to week 12th by not eating meat and seafood for 100 days until May 2nd, 2016?
Stay tuned for next week’s update.
